This workshop is for you if you presently own a business, are thinking about starting a business, or have just started a business. The Internal Revenue Service partners present record keeping, selecting the right type of business entity, expenses, office in the home, depreciation and basic forms. The workshop also includes a brief “Issues for New Businesses” section, to introduce you to other federal regulations and information resources.

If you plan to have employees or do have employees and have questions, this workshop will tell you your responsibilities under federal laws. Information presented will help you meet your employment responsibilities correctly and efficiently. Presentation will include a broad range of issues including taxes, filing requirements, record keeping, wage liabilities, pitfalls to avoid, and the distinctions between employees and independent contractors.
